About your First Bikram Yoga Class
BEFORE CLASS
When you decide to come, please arrive at least 10 minutes before the start of class. We will ask you to fill out a waiver. If you would like to fill it out now and bring it in, that’s great, it’ll save you time. CLICK HERE TO PRINT WAIVER (pdf)
Come to any class, wear light clothing, be prepared to sweat, please come clean and on time. Mats and towels to rent, water to purchase (or bring your own).
DURING CLASS
You will be asked to remain in the yoga room for the entire duration of class. Restrooms may be used only before and after class. This is for many reasons. First, your safety. Second, to develop concentration, determination and discipline. You may have to sit down, that’s totally ok! In a few classes you will get used to being in the heat. Regardless of your level of fitness, or what kind of shape you are in, you will get enormous benefits from a steady practice. Be patient and
have fun!
AFTER CLASS
When class is over, the final moment consists of what is called SAVASANA, where the body lies down in a simple, comfortable position for a few minutes. If you lie still for two to five minutes, the class is more effective. It is a time of heightened healing, rejuvenation and transformation for the body and mind. Just lie still.
The most important advice we can give, apart from drinking plenty of water, is to come back for another class as soon as possible. Daily practice is recommended. Remember, even if you had a hard time, you are still getting the benefits!
